Sherman!

Sherman

This week’s dog is Sherman! Sherman is a boxer/lab/hound mix(?) who is approximately one year old. He is petite for his mix, only about 45-55 lbs. Super friendly with everyone he meets, and a complete character (how could he NOT be with that face?). Sherman is located in St. Pauls, NC, at Robeson County Animal Shelter. Robeson is incredibly helpful as far as shelters go. They do out of state adoptions and the vet clinic they use is fantastic! If you think you have a good home for Sherman, please do not hesitate to contact the shelter! You can call them at 910-865-2200 or email them animal.shelter@hth.co.robe son.nc.us!

I apologize to those who had tried to submit things to the blog, I didn't realize the submit button wasn't on the page. It is now, so if there are any animals you wish for me to post about, feel free to submit them! =)

wheretheheartismeanttobe asked: I know you normally promo west coast dogs (I'm sure that's because that's what you come across based on your location! Not knocking you at all!), but I was wondering if I could make a request? Could you promo some of the animals at Robeson Animal Shelter in NC? I would link but Tumblr won't let me. They are great and really trying!! They've had two no kill days in a row and are hoping for another on Monday! But they need help! Thank you! :) This blog is great.

Actually, I prefer promoting all animals, no matter where their location. The reason why there may be more animals from the west coast (and no, they aren’t near my location whatsoever actually), is because of the Facebook pages I follow and the animals they promote. I just copy the info from there and put it here. I would definitely love to help any animals in need. =) Though at this moment, there isn’t much updates due to my overly busy schedule, so if you’d like you can submit animals in need here and I’ll gladly post them. =)

The Trio Animal Foundation is in urgent need of funds to help give this dog the lifesaving medical care that he needs.

Dozer’s story is a horrible one. I can’t believe that this poor guy has survived this long.

Dozer was just rescued this week from an abusive household. The story about what happened isn’t totally clear but from what we can gather, the husband’s form of discipline was to repeatedly kick Dozer over and over on a regular basis. One night, the husband went to hit his wife and Dozer went after him and bit his ankle. Infuriated, the husband grabbed his gun and shot Dozer.

Dozer was able to run to the neighbor’s house and hide under her porch. When the husband came out to shoot him again, the 80 year woman that lived in the house came out with a broom and warned that if he touched Dozer then he would have to deal with her.

Even though the elderly woman was initially afraid of Dozer, she protected him for days. Dozer sat under her porch, untreated, for 5 days.

During this time, Dozer repeatedly scratched at his gunshot wound. His wound is now 8 inches long, 4 inches wide and has a depth of 1 inch.

This is where the Trio Animal Foundation comes in…

Currently, Dozer is being housed at a grooming facility and we are working to get him to Chicago so that he can get the intensive medical care that he needs.

At this point, Dozer already has a fever of over 103 degrees and he is only receiving oral antibiotics and pain pills. He needs x-rays, surgery, IV antibiotics, IV pain medications, heartworm testing and possibly treatment when he is strong enough, vaccinations, neutered, hospitalization, etc.

This is more money than TAF can afford to spend on him right now. We have so many animals already under our wing that is a bit overwhelming.

We have committed to paying Dozer’s medical bills but we need your help. This dog deserves the best chance possible to survive. Such evil must be undone.

Every donation, both small and large, would be most appreciated. Even as I write this, one of our dogs is receiving hip surgery. We are dealing with some major abuse cases right now, cases that we just could not turn away.

If you can make a tax-deductible donation, you can visit our website atwww.trioanimalfoundation.org and pay by credit card or send a check to Trio Animal Foundation, 516 N. Ogden Ave. Suite 199, Chicago, IL 60642.

We would really appreciate it if you would share this post so that we can spread the word about Dozer.

Please help us to do right by this dog.

Skin Deep

Hello everyone! I know I haven’t posted in a very long time. I have been overly busy. I have updated the layout however and added links that will help you find more information about animals in need.

There is one link I would like to tell you all about however, it’s called Skin Deep. If you’re someone like myself who does not want to use any products tested on animals, you can easily search this site and it will tell you. It has lots of information, however, they don’t have every products known in their database. I thought it was very useful, thus I am sharing it with you all as well. =)

Hope everyone is doing well. =)

STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY!

REBLOG THIS PLEASE.

/tear. </3

I know people hate seeing stuff like this….and I hate reblogging pictures like this. But animals can’t speak for themselves, and they don’t deserve neglect or abuse. If you can’t take care of your dog/cat, surrender it to a shelter or someone who can. Please.

This makes me physically ill.

In China, live animals such as turtles and fishes are sealed inside plastic pouches to be used as keychains. Exposed to harsh dyes, the animals soon suffocate and die. This is 100% legal and becoming increasingly popular. REBLOG to spread the word and put a stop to this cruel practice.
